We have been at Hawkesbury Junction since Friday morning. We left Bridge 3a about 8-30am and arrived at Hawkesbury Junction by 10-30 am. We were lucky to get a mooring just in front of the water point. We will only need to pull back a few feet before we leave tomorrow to get water.
After mooring we got the bus to Bedworth to go shopping again. There is a huge Tesco in Bedworth right near the bus stop so it is quite convenient. The De Courcey 78 bus runs every hour and it cost me £3-90. The Wetherspoons in Bedworth is not very salubrious however and after one drink waiting for the next bus we decamped back to Hawkesbury and went to The Greyhound.
Saturday Ken did his battery check and I cleaned the Port side, back and front of the boat. Lunchtime we went off to Nuneaton to watch the football at The George Eliot. We went on the same bus (De Courcey 78) and this time the fare was £5-80 a 20p drop from the last time I think!
Today Ken has once again been busy trying to effect a repair to our work top which has inexplicably come apart near the hob. I have done a red paint touch up on the Port side. I should have done the black as well but for some reason I didn’t.
Tomorrow we are going to go down the bit of the Cove ntry canal we haven’t been down before, mainly to go to Tesco’s near the Ricoh Arena which we have been to on foot but we may go the whole 5 miles to the basin in Coventry. We haven’t made our minds up yet.
